Audit badges

Of the 593 Made-in-China.com profiles CNC Compass read, 508 (86%) name the inspection company that audited the supplier on site: SGS (204), TÜV Rheinland (141), Bureau Veritas (112), and CTI (51). The audit checks the company behind the profile, such as registration, premises, and staff. It does not test parts or certify a process, so it complements, rather than replaces, your own first-article inspection.

What to ask

A small QC team can be enough for simple parts in small batches. For tight tolerances, many critical features, or large batches, ask who measures your parts, with which equipment, at which stage (first piece, in process, final), and which report you will receive. Put the report you need, for example a dimensional report on the first article and a material certificate, into the purchase order.
